  • Revision sessions – lunch times / after school / Saturdays – plan to deliver structured sessions with achievable activities
  • Revision booklets with examination guidance and revision materials

  • Examination papers and questions – for practice during lessons / revision sessions / for students to complete at home.  Also use the mark schemes as a basis for peer and self assessment.  Model / share examples of good examination answers.  Provide writing frames to teach the students how to structure a good answer.

  • Target individual students who may be at risk of underachieving – contact home with letters and phone calls / liaise with achievement co-ordinators
  • Review strategies – mind mapping / revision cards / memory techniques – copy and share examples with the class and other teachers
  • Give formative feedback – make the students aware of their target grades and WAG grades.  Provide advice on how to progress
  • Revision trips – lots of educational providers offer revision workshops for students
  • Revision guidance uploaded onto school website for both pupils and parents to access
